The FBI found more than 300 gold bars in a former high official

An ex-US government official David Rush was arrested after investigators from the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) discovered about 303 gold bars in his house, each weighing about one kilogram. The total value of the seized gold, at current prices, exceeds $40 million, reports BBC. In addition, they found about two million dollars in cash and 35 luxury watches, including Rolex.

According to court documents, Rush had requested the US government several times between November 2025 and March 2026 for large amounts of foreign money and gold to be used for “expenses related to work”. He also received this money, but it was later impossible to find any official records of its use or return. CIA PICTURE: Shutterstock The case began with an internal probe.
