Mufti Porić Highlights Faith’s Values at Barja Mosque Ceremony

LJUBLJANA – At the central Barja mosque ceremony held this morning at the Muslim Cultural Center in Ljubljana, Mufti Nevzat Porić addressed the importance of faith and its core tenets. The ceremony, which commenced at 5:55 AM, drew attendees from the Muslim Community in the Republic of Slovenia. Porić described Islam as a faith rooted in hope and optimism, offering individuals the chance for repentance and a fresh start.

He stressed the crucial role of sincerity and dedication, as emphasized by the Islamic Community, stating that “Without sincerity and dedication, the Hajj can only be an external ceremony.”

According to Porić, the Hajj serves as a powerful reminder of equality before God, transcending material distinctions and focusing on pure hearts and genuine intentions. He acknowledged ongoing global challenges, noting the continued presence of suffering, conflict, and indifference worldwide. “We are still witnessing scenes of suffering, wars, humiliation of people, and world indifference, and that the world is once again experiencing an increase in this,” he stated.

The event underscored the significance of faith in providing guidance and promoting ethical conduct within the Slovenian Muslim community.
