The region is currently addressing the aftermath of strong winds, however, accumulating snow is exacerbating conditions in certain locations. Residents report that snowfall has reached up to two meters in several areas within various municipalities, prompting the activation of snowplowing services across some of these areas. Since March 26th until 11:00 a.m.
today, the emergency number 112 has received over 590 calls from concerned citizens. At least seventeen municipalities have been impacted, each requiring specific interventions. The Municipality of Maribor experienced 43 interventions, while Slovenska Bistrica reported 19.
Hoče – Slivnica and Rače – Fram each had 18, and Šentilj 16. Miklavž na Dravskem polju saw 10 calls, followed by Pesnica and Duplek with 8 each. Starše recorded 7, Poljčane 4, and Lenart, Makole, and Cerkvenjak each had 2.
Sveti Jurij v Slovenskih goricah and Sveta Trojica v Slovenskih goricah each received one call, and Oplotnica one. This data remains incomplete, reflecting the ongoing efforts of the municipalities to assist their citizens. Some areas continue to face significant challenges due to the persistent snowfall.
