German billions for civil protection: 110,000 Polish beds and shelter inventory

Civil protection is intended to protect and provide assistance to people during a crisis, but Germany is apparently not capable of doing this at the moment. Interior Minister Alexander Dobrindt is therefore planning a “civil protection pact” worth ten billion euros. The minister has already spoken about extensive investments last year, when he highlighted investments in new sirens, warning systems for mobile phones, additional shelters, purchase of rescue and firefighting vehicles and other heavy equipment.

This year, plans have become even more concrete: by 2029, they are expected to purchase 1,000 new special vehicles and 110,000 Polish beds. They would also establish a new unit for coordinating cooperation between the government and the German army in case of emergency. The German bunker is also being described.
